Robert Gilman

In the 70’s when I was in grad school at the University of Dayton in Ohio, I worked as a part-time waiter at Smugglers Inn in Dayton. Bob was the manager. I wasn’t there that long and soon left for my home in Ca. Bob showed-up several years later at my office in Sausalito, seeking investors for a restaurant in Monterey. Could never figure-out if he was serious. Or how he found me as those were the days before the internet.

You were so much more than my best friend. You were family. I learned so much from you and I'm the better for loving you. I'm sure you with your love of music will appreciate me saying Con Te Partiro, you've taken a piece of me with you. I love you Bob

Sally, Bob spoke of you often. That class reunion must have been a blast the way he spoke if you and the rest.

I met Bob in first grade and went through eight years of school at Holy Cross. He has always been a sweet, cheerful, kind person. He was the first guy I danced with. We got together again when he moved back from Florida. He was a wonderful friend. I will miss him.

Bob was a great guy. Remember his first car. A VW Bug. He’d come over to my parents house to have me wash it. We had good times RIP Michael Heilbronn
