George B. Harris, age 65, of Manistique, Michigan, passed away on Sunday, July 30, 2023. He
was born on December 28, 1957, to George and Gwendolyn Harris in Chicago, Illinois. George
was affectionately known as Sput to his loved ones. He was given this nickname as a child
because he was born the same year the first artificial satellite to orbit the earth (Sputnik) was
successfully launched. As an adult, George chose a new name for himself. That name is Atrox
Monad Physis Antares.
George proudly served in the United States Marine Corps. He had many interests in life,
including aerodynamics, the game of chess, astrology, and reading. George was a very unique
individual who loved his family to the fullest. He will be remembered especially for his kind and
giving nature.
George was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Arthur Chester Harris; first cousins,
Paula Mills, Sr., Janine Huff, and Henry “Light” Huff. He is survived by his niece, Akia Muldrow;
his nephew, Arthur Muldrow; beloved first cousins, Carmen Upshaw, Glenda Huff, and Lorincz
Huff; cousin-in-law, Murry Mills, Sr.; and a host of relatives and friends.

Sput was My first cousin, and along with his brother, affectionately know as Buggy, the leader of our trio, known as the neopolitans. We were nicknamed this because of our complexions and hair colors, matched the popular ice cream flavor. We were very very close through childhood, and grew up together. The childhood adventures we had, shaped us to the men we became. Sput had a variety of interests, .artial arts, astronomy, and electronics, to name a few. He also loved climbing and was a natural choice fool the Marine Corps. He had an uncanny memory of birthdays and always celebrated our many cousins and Aunts birthdays with a gift. He showed me my first telescope, knew many of the Co stellations, and introduced me to electronics. Which would later lead me to a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering. I will not forget him , as his influence is still with me.

Sputnik was always excited about life in general. He loved playing games that involved lots of action especially with his younger brother Arthur( Buggy ) and his cousin Lorincz . I miss his warm smile and presence.
You will always have a special place in my heart.
