Jerome “Joe” Joseph Hoppe, age 86, of Saginaw, Michigan, passed away at home, on Wednesday, December 4, 2024. He was born on January 29, 1938, to David and Theresia Hoppe in Saginaw, Michigan. He married June Walters on July 2, 1960, in Saginaw, Michigan. Together they shared 64 years. Joe proudly enlisted into the Army and was active from 1961-1963.
Joe was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, and even searching for morel mushrooms. He loved playing puzzles and games with family and friends. He cherished his time spent with his family and was thrilled to spend time with his grandchildren. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Joe is survived by his beloved wife, June Hoppe; children, Jerry (Karen) Hoppe, and the late Jeffrey (Kim) Hoppe; grandchildren, Tyler (Alexis) Hoppe, Hunter (fiancée, Alyssa Walker) Hoppe, Jackson Jaeger, Nicholas Jaeger, Ryan (Stephany) Hoppe, Ashley (TJ) Rozek and Jacob (Whitney Buchinger) Hoppe; great grandchildren, Kolton, Presley, Baylor and Memphis; siblings, Ray Hoppe, Mary Stankiewcz, Kathy Klepinger, Joseph Hoppe, and Bernadine Lumsden; several nieces, nephews and many cousins. Joe was preceded in death by his son, Jeffrey Hoppe; eight siblings and their parents.
Visitation will take place on Monday, December 9, 2024, from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service at 2:00 p.m., at Fischer Family Funeral Home, 504 N. Michigan Avenue, Saginaw, MI 48602. Pastoral Associate Tori Little will officiate. Active-duty Army military honors will be conducted. Entombment will take place at Oakwood Mausoleum following the services.

June, I’m so sorry to hear of Joe’s passing. I remember a lot of laughs at Gerry and Ray’s. While my husband Tom, and Gerry too are up there they can have some laughs. Rest in peace Joe.
