Obituary

Tracy Lee Hoornstra
1/14/1970 - 6/18/2026

Tracy Lee Hoornstra, age 56, passed away unexpectedly on June 18, 2026, at Covenant Harrison Hospital in Saginaw, Michigan.

Tracy was a devoted and consistent father, beloved son, caring brother, cherished uncle, and proud great-uncle. He was deeply loved by his family and treasured the time he spent with them. His presence, love, and support will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Tracy enjoyed riding motorcycles, spending time with his truck, and most of all, spending time with his family and his best friend, Thor, the dog. He especially loved simple comfort foods, with meat and potatoes being one of his favorites. He loved spaghetti, cheeseburger Mac, and his favorite was chilli.

Tracy had a deep love and respect for his father and often spoke about everything he was taught by him. He was an avid mechanic, a skill and passion his father taught him out of love, and something he carried with him throughout his life. Tracy’s love of cars and mechanics remained a lifelong passion that reflected that special bond.

Tracy began riding motorcycles with his father at the age of 13, he would always talk about it with fire in his eyes.

Tracy worked at many different truck yards, mechanic positions, and car part sales. But he almost always did tires. He was a tire guy through and through.

Tracy was preceded in death by his father, Stanley John Hoornstra Sr.; his mother, Linda Mae Ramsey; and his beloved great-nieces, Kianna Lynn Harris and Layla Marie Fail and his nephew John Houston Michael.

Tracy is survived by his sons, Kodi Hoornstra, Kori Hoornstra, and Tracy Hoornstra Jr.; his step-children, Tyler Fowler, Georgina Fowler, and Lisa Osborne; his mother, Karen Hoornstra-Loranger (Nelson Loranger); his sisters,  Jennifer Chin (Alex Chin), Annette Adkins, Denise Doyle (Bill Doyle) , and Theresa Lewis; his brothers, Stanley Hoornstra, John Lewis, Jacob Kolinko, and Daniel Hoornstra; along with many nieces and nephews and Great nieces and Great nephews who will forever cherish the memories they shared with him.

Tracy will always be remembered for his love of family, his caring heart, and the many memories he created with those around him.

Though Tracy’s life ended unexpectedly, the love he gave and the memories he created will remain in the hearts of those who loved him. He was our everything and he will be missed.

Per Tracy’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Also, per his wishes, Chaplain Don Bennett—his longtime pastor who held a special place in his heart—will be officiating his memorial.

The family will announce memorial arrangements and the date at a later time.
