Delores Schmidt

Delores Filipiak Schmidt, age 93, of Saginaw, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 17, 2024, at Brittany Manor in Midland, Michigan. The daughter of Joseph and Christine (Ostrowski) Filipiak, Delores was born June 1, 1931, in Saginaw, Michigan. She married John L. Schmidt on May 25, 1963, and together they shared 16 years of marriage until John preceded her in death in 1979 at the age of 41.
Delores was a proud Veteran, having served with the United States Naval Reserve. She was active in her church and was a member of the League of Catholic Women. She was also a member of the Eagles Club. She enjoyed vegetable gardening and cherished time spent with her family.
Delores is survived by her son, John (Jennifer) Schmidt; grandson, Lucas Schmidt; nieces and nephews, Matt, Sue, Abby, Nick, Gage Enzer, and Mike (Amber), Shane, and Trinity Slocum. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Schmidt; her sister, Gloria (Nate) Slocum; brother, Joseph (Polly) Filipiak, Jr. and her parents, Joseph and Antoinette Filipiak.
Visitation will take place on Saturday, December 21, 2024, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Fischer Family Funeral Home, 504 N. Michigan Avenue, Saginaw, MI 48602.
