Obituary
Lloyd Junior Duby, Jr., age 93, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 11, 2024, at Edgewood Assisted Living in Saginaw, Michigan. Lloyd was born on August 15, 1931, to Lloyd and Margaret Duby in Saginaw, Michigan.
Lloyd graduated from Saginaw High School and then enlisted in the U.S. Army. He proudly served three years and ten months, becoming a Staff Sargeant and was stationed at West Point during the Korean War. He married Margaret Weber and they enjoyed nearly 65 years of marriage until her death in 2019. Lloyd and Margaret were long time members at Peace Lutheran Church in Saginaw, where Lloyd served as an elder for many years and was committee member of the Good Friday Services. He was employed at Seeman & Peters and Valley Litho Plate, from where he eventually retired. Lloyd enjoyed coaching his sons' softball teams when they were younger.
Lloyd is survived by his children, Paul Duby and Pete (Cynthia Olenick-Duby) Duby; grandchildren, Olivia and Jackson Duby; many special nieces, nephews, cousins, and beloved friends who cared and did so much for Lloyd over the past several years.
Lloyd was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Duby; seven siblings, Woodrow, Bernard, Robert, Francis, Lyle, Esther, Charlotte, and three infant siblings, Kenneth, Sally and Marion; and their parents.
Visitation will take place on Monday, December 16, 2024, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of Funeral Service at 11:30 a.m. at Fischer Family Funeral Home, 504 N. Michigan Avenue, Saginaw, MI 48602. Pastor Matthew Hauser will officiate. In the Spring of 2025, a graveside service and luncheon will be held for those who are not able to attend the current services.
Lloyd will be laid to rest at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, next to his wife Margaret.
The family would like to thank the staff at Edgewood Assisted Living Center and Careline Hospice for their excellent care over the past months.
