Obituary
Gerald “Jerry” Peter Maser, age 72, of Au Gres, Michigan passed away Tuesday, January 7, 2025, at Covenant HealthCare in Saginaw. Gerald was born on September 8, 1952, in Au Gres, Michigan. He was the son of Vivienne (Maser) Jackson and Frederic W. Oates. He married Geri (Edgette) on July 31, 1971, in Au Gres and together they shared 53 years of marriage.
Jerry began life in Au Gres Michigan before moving to several different states including Florida, Colorado and California before returning to Au Gres. After graduating from Au Gres High School, he attended Kirtland CC to study Mechanical Engineering and Design before starting a career in designing & building machines for several different companies in the automotive supplier sector. Jerry was an avid boater and a frustrated golfer. He most enjoyed time spent traveling with his wife and children. Most summer weekends were spent with family and friends relaxing on the water or around Charity Island. Following his retirement in 2004, Jerry and Geri moved to Florida for a new adventure until the draw of grandchildren brought them back home. They returned home again to Au Gres in 2014 and have resided there since. He always enjoyed a shady spot and a place to sit to take in a beautiful view.
Jerry is survived by his beloved wife, Geri Maser; loving children, Christina (Patrick Boyd) Maser and Heath (Christine) Maser; adored grandchildren, Emersyn Boyd, Ian Boyd, and Elias Boyd, Ella and Leah Maser; his mother, Vivienne Jackson; sisters and brothers-in-law, Patricia (Randy) Bilacic and Lynn (Walter) Hutchens; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Honoring Jerry's wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be a celebration of life held in the spring of 2025. Please check back for further details.

"A place to sit to take in a beautiful view" Yep, that's it, and his grin so perfectly captured in this picture. Jerry was a great man.
My favorite memory was 8 years ago, the plan was to be on the bay in my boat with Heath and others. My boat decided to need repairs that day. So we loaded Heath's young family and I onto J&G's pontoon to picnic at a nearby beach. Later that day the guys went back out to stand on a sand bar in the middle of the Bay to "take in a beautiful view". Of course, Geri and Christine had a feast ready when we got back. The day nor the captain could have been any more perfect.
