Fjerstad, Susan KaySaginaw Township, MichiganSusan passed away on Saturday, May 4, 2013 at home at age 52 years. Susan was born on September 22, 1960 to Ralph and Sharon Kay (Engel) Beyersdorf. She graduated from Eisenhower High School in 1978 and earned an Associate's Degree in Child Development. She married Michael Fjerstad on August 19, 1983. Susan did day-care in her home for 12 years and also taught kindergarten and preschool at Bethlehem Lutheran School for over 13 years. She loved ceramics and spending time with her family and friends. Teaching children was her passion. Susan is survived by her husband Michael and two daughters; Sarah and Ron Pulaski, Emily, and her granddaughter Chloe Addison Pulaski . Susan's brothers are Geoff, Michael, Eric, Matthew and half-brother Jason Henne. She was predeceased by her daughter Ashley Fjerstad on July 10, 1989.Funeral service will take place at Peace Lutheran Church, 3427 Adams Ave. on Thursday, May 9, 2013 at 11am. Pastor C. William Weis will officiate with burial in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Family and friends are welcome to visit at the church on Wednesday, May 8, 2013 from 2-5 and 6-8pm and also on Thursday from 10am until time of service. Funeral arrangements have been made with the McIntyre Funeral Chapel, 504 N. Michigan Ave. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be considered to Bethlehem and Peace Lutheran School (foundation fund) and the Child Abuse & Neglect Council of Saginaw County.

Susan was a wonderful sweet woman. I am so sorry to hear of her passing. I knew her from high school and a mutual friend. Whenever I ran into her she was always the same..kind and sweet. She often spoke happily of her husband and daughter and her love of her work. My thoughts and prayers are with those of you who loved her best.

I would like to take time to let you know how sorry I am for your loss. Our family lost two dear friends recently. We found comfort in a Bible promise at Revelation 21:3-5.
