Obituary
Sheila “Shelly” Marie Roy, age 66, of Saginaw, passed away Sunday, February 23, 2025, at Covenant HealthCare in Saginaw, Michigan.
Shelly met the love of her life, Mark Roy, at the age of 12, where they attended Hemlock Public schools, Class of 77. They married on September 6th, 1980, and had two precious children; Kyle and Keri.
Shelly was a loving wife, mother, daughter and friend. She worked extremely hard putting in 43 years at Covenant Healthcare before her retirement in 2018. She loved spending time at her “home away from home”, Lake City, boating and relaxing at the cottage. But above all, she put all her time, love and effort into her family, grandkids and friendships. She will be remembered for her kind heart, hard work ethic, witty sense of humor and all around generosity towards others.
Shelly was born on January 13, 1959, to Jerome and Imogene (Christie) Wallaert in Saginaw, Michigan.
Shelly is survived by her beloved husband, Mark Roy; dear children, Kyle (fiancée, Gena Patterson) Roy and Keri Roy; cherished grandchildren, Lucas, Walker, Tucker and Jack; brother in law, Matt Roy; sister in law, Angela (Jim) Doyle; brother, Jerome (Lori) Wallaert Jr.; niece, Janie Wallaert; and an aunt, Sandra Bauer.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Sheryl Ann Wallaert; father, Jerome Wallaert; mother in law, Frances Allison; sister in law, Denise King; sister in law, Tracey Richnak; aunt Jane Sherman.
Shelly's mother, Imogene, passed away 12 hours after Shelly did, a coincidence very similar to Imogene's sister, Jane, and their mother, Bernice, who passed away a few hours apart.
Memorial Visitation will take place for both Shelly and Imogene on Wednesday, March 5, 2025 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of memory sharing at 1:00 p.m., at Fischer Family Funeral Home, 504 North Michigan Avenue, Saginaw, Michigan 48602.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made directly to them in memory of Shelly.
