Voorheis, Mary Kathryn (MacDonald)Saginaw, MichiganPassed away Wednesday morning, January 29, 2014 at the Cartwright Hospice Residence at age 84 years. Mary was born on August 18, 1929 to the late Neil and Bessie Adams MacDonald. She retired from Michigan Bell Telephone, as a training supervisor, after 35 years of service. Mary volunteered in the literary program at Luther Manor for many years. She was predeceased by her husband Byron W. Voorheis II and her sister Jean A. MacDonald. Mary was a member of Faith Baptist Church. She is survived by her step daughter Ruth VanGilden and special friends; Pat Kniebbe, Peggy Rivett, Donna Brandi, Rose Ann Winchester, Laura Tucker, Susan and Marvin Lentner. In accordance with Mary's wishes cremation has taken place with inurnment in Oakwood Cemetery. A special memorialization for Mary will take place during the 11:00am church service at Faith Baptist Church, 3783 Mannion Road, Saginaw. Pastor Scott McIntyre will officiate.

I didn't know that Mary K. had passed away until I came home from New Mexico and Looked up Byron W. Voorheis and there she was. I wish her family would have contacted me to let me know she had passed. My brother and I would have sent flowers. She was a wonderful wife to my cousin and we will miss her.Marilyn and Dan Martin

Mary K. was a delightful lady and a loving friend. She and Jean were devoted sisters and doting daughters of their sweet mother Bessie. Mary K. always had a tender heart for animals, and we enjoyed the stories she told us of her interactions with animals from her husband's circus. She loved the Lord and is with Him in glory now.
