Our beautiful Sue Kennedy, 58, lost her courageous battle with cancer. Sue passed away at her home on March 11, 2014 in the company of her treasured children and family. Sue was born on March 12, 1956 in Washington, Pennsylvania to Daniel and Alberta Kennedy, they survive her. Sue was a graduate of Arthur Hill High School class of 1974. Sue retired from FedEx and before her illness she was employed by Jake's Old City Grill. Sue was artistically and musically talented, she enjoyed painting and bringing life to what others deemed “old”. Sue loved spending time with her children and grandchildren, especially on the beach of her sister's cabin in Tawas. Sue was also a very good friend to all who were fortunate to know her. Sue is survived by the loves of her life; her son Ryan (Ann) Phillips and two daughters Laura Phillips (Carlos Zaragoza) and Liz Phillips; six grandchildren Jenna, Hylah and Ryan Phillips Jr., Alandra and Sophia Zaragoza, Izabella Thon; five sisters Kathy Kennedy (Don Weber), Rosemary Fiscus, Karen (Tom) Lomas, Gretchen (Mitch) Tarras and Tricia (Ed) DeGroat and many nieces and nephews, along with her loving dog Harpo, and friends Joni, Kate, Christopher, Ray and many many others. Her family would like to extend their gratitude to Sue's Hospice caregivers. In Sue's description, “They're my angels”. A memorial mass will be held on Saturday, March 15, 2014 at 11am at St. Andrew Catholic Church, 612 N. Michigan with visitation from 10am until time of service. Arrangements made by the McIntyre Funeral Chapel. Fr. Ron Wagner will officiate. In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial to Hospice of Covenant VNA. “When tomorrow starts without me, don't think we're apart, for every time you think of me, I'm right there in your heart.” Rest in peace our sweet little Suzan.

Tricia,I am deeply sorry to hear about your sister Susan. Hopefully, she is in a much happier place now that the Good Lord has accepted her. It is always difficult to understand how and why we have the struggles we do here on earth but we must always maintain our faith.My prayers are with you and your family.Paul
