Wallace was born Nov. 14, 1928 in Elmwood, IL to Cecil and Hazel “Kleen” Kimler. Both preceded him in death. Wallace passed away on April 26, 2014, after a lengthy bout with cancer. He was living at Community Village in Saginaw, MI. Wallace was the fourth of five siblings; Evelyn Strawhacker (Carl), Warren Gene (Evelyn), Wayne Dean (Barbara) and Shirley Ann Myers (Charles). None of his siblings survive. Wallace graduated from Bushnell, IL High School and then at the end of WWII he served in the US Navy, stationed at Pensacola, FL. On returning home he worked at Caterpillar Tractor Co. in Peoria, IL and later owned and operated Dog & Suds Restaurants in Findlay and Columbus, OH. His sons are Philip, Kerry and Douglas. Douglas survives in Columbus, OH. Also two daughters by marriage, Marsha and Billie. Billie survives in Lewistown, IL. His grandchildren Michael, Matthew, Janine and Brian all live in Ohio. He also has numerous nieces and nephews living in all parts of the United States. Wallace was a long time member of the Lutheran Church, serving in many areas. A memorial service will be held at Community Village; Saturday, May 3, 2014 at 1:30 pm. Inurnment will take place in St. Patrick Cemetery, Bay City. It is requested that any donations be made in Wallace's name to Community Village, 3200 Hospital Rd., Saginaw, Michigan 48603 or to the Cartwright Hospice Residence, 3443 Hospital Rd., Saginaw, Michigan 48603.

I will miss seeing Wallace's smiling face at church. We had a couple nice chats about Findlay, OH and his Dogs & Suds restaurant there. My family lived in Findlay for several years, and we remember the restaurant well.May God give you peace.
