Iamurri, Louis JohnSaginaw, MichiganPassed away November 24, 2014 following a brief illness at Covenant Cooper at age 87. Louis was born on November 25, 1926 in Saginaw to the late Louis Anthony and Virginia Iamurri. He was married to Jean Seitz on April 24, 1944. She predeceased him on February 20, 2002. Louis enjoyed his motorcycle which he continued to ride until age 85 years. He loved his sailboat and had a vast knowledge of automobiles. He loved the yearly tradition of spending time making Italian sausage with his nephews. Louis was a well-loved “dirty old man” with his humorous jokes and stories. Lou served with the US Air Force as a sergeant. Lou is survived by four nephews and his niece: Rick and Colleen Iamurri, Rod and Glenna Iamurri, Randy and Bea Iamurri, Scott and Sally Despins and Beth Ann and Robert Ellis. He is also survived by numerous great nieces, nephews, many relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his brother Joseph F. Iamurri and his sister in law Marjorie Despins. Louis truly enjoyed his coffee and donuts with the employees at the Meijer store on Gratiot Road. A Memorial Liturgy will take place on Tuesday, December 2, 2014 at 11:00am at SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, 4375 W. Michigan Ave., Saginaw. Fr. Steven M. Gavit will officiate. Family and friends are welcome to visit at the church on Tuesday from 10am until time of service. In lieu of flowers, please consider a contribution to your own favorite charity on behalf of Louis. McIntyre Funeral Chapel was honored to assist the Iamurri family with these arrangements.

I will miss Lou in the mornings,and his frequent trips in the afternoon. I used to call him the mayor of bullshitville located down in the cafe. He always had a thing or two to say to his girls at Meijer.

My prayers and thoughts are with the family of Louie. The memorial has him fit right to a tee a "dirty old man" who loved his stories and was a very good listener to his ( Family ) at the Meijer on Gratiot. A very lovable man God Bless Him.

I am so sorry to see that one of my favorite people is gone. I used to work at Meijer and did so for 25 plus years and he was one of my fondest memories. My heart goes out to his family and friends. He always brought a smile to my face, and brightened up the worst of my days. He will be greatly missed.

I will be keeping Louie's family in my prayers. I'm so sorry for your loss. He brightened up my mornings at Meijer with his smile and jokes. Truly was a amazing guy, and I will miss him a lot. I know so many others will too.

Lou was one of our favorite neighbors here at River Forest Condos. He was the one who made us feel a part of the neighborhood. He was friendly, interested and fun to talk to. He kept an eye on things and we appreciated that. We will miss him very much. Rest in peace, Lou. You will be missed.
