Maria Rivera

Maria Guadalupe Rivera of Carrollton, Michigan.Surrounded by her family went peacefully with the Lord on Friday evening, June 12, 2015. Maria was born September 30, 1933 in Weslaco, Texas. Daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Manuel and Dolores Alfaro. Maria was 81 years old. Maria married Agapito Rivera on May 3, 1952 in Shelby, Michigan. He survives her. She also leaves behind to cherish her memory, five sons and two daughters: Dolores (Angel) Nunez; Agapito (Dawn) Rivera, Jr.; Valentin Rivera; Ruben Rivera; Reinaldo Rivera; Eddy Rivera; Carmen (Gerald) Zamora; as well as, 19 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by three brothers; Ruben Alfaro of San Antonio, Texas; Rogelio (Stella) Alfaro of Lansing, Michigan and Manuel (Mercedes) Alfaro of Sacramento, California; along with many nieces and nephews. Maria lived her life honoring God. She also loved cooking for her family, watching novellas, playing bingo, scratch offs and taking casino trips with her friends. Friends are cordially invited to celebrate the life of Maria, with her family, on Thursday, June 18, 2015 at the Living Faith Family Ministries, 1902 Stone Street in Saginaw. Visitation will begin at 10am until the service at 12 Noon. Pastor Frank and Rita Gallardo will officiate. In honor of Maria's wishes, cremation will follow. Maria's family would like to thank the Covenant SICU staff that greatly served her in her time of need. Funeral arrangements were made with the McIntyre Funeral Chapel, 504 N. Michigan Ave., Saginaw, MI.
