Lucille E. Black, née Wells, age 97, passed away peacefully in her sleep Sunday December 27, 2015 at Saint Francis Home in Saginaw where she resided the past 11 years.Daughter of the late Benjamin and Elvy Wells, née Garrow, Lucille was born on May 5, 1918 in Harbor Beach, Michigan.Lucille is the loving mother of Paul, Jean (Don) Milburn, James (Joanne), Agnes (John) Schober, Kay (David) Andress, and Charles (Joy); cherished grandmother of 18; great grandmother of 21; great-great grandmother of 4; dear sister of Beatrice Beecher. She will also be missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Lucille was predeceased by her beloved husband, Stewart Black, her son, Joseph John, two granddaughters, Lora Jones and Alisa Andress, one sister Mary La Pan, and two brothers, Joseph and Marshall "Louie" Wells.An active member of SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Lucille was also a member of the League of Catholic Women and was an election judge for Saginaw County.Visitation will be held Friday, January 1, 2016, 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with a Prayer Vigil taking place at 7:00 p.m. at Fischer Family Funeral Services (formerly McIntyre Funeral Chapel), 504 N. Michigan Avenue, Saginaw, Michigan 48602.Visitation will be held Saturday, January 2, 2016 from 1:00 p.m. until time of the Funeral Mass at 2:00 p.m. at St. Dominic Parish, SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church Campus, 4735 W. Michigan Avenue, Saginaw, Michigan, 48638.Burial will be held privately at St. Andrew Cemetery, Saginaw.

Lucille was a lovely lady. I remember her helping our friend Marguerite many years ago when Marguerite was dying of cancer. Lucille was a friend to Marguerite to the end.
