Shirley Chelenyak

Shirley Ann Chelenyak, 83, passed away Monday, February 1, 2016, with her family by her side in Frankenmuth, Michigan. Shirley was born November 16, 1932 in Detroit, Michigan to Walter and Alta Miller. She was preceded in death by her parents, and two sisters; Jeanette and Betty.She resided in Sugar Springs (Gladwin, Michigan) with her husband, George Chelenyak, who she loved dearly and was married to for 63 ½ years. They were married at St. John Catholic Church in Detroit, Michigan on June 14, 1952. George and Shirley loved to travel together and they traveled all 50 states together.They also had three beautiful daughters that were raised near Lincoln Park, Michigan; Nancy (Bruce) Dummond of Sheridan, Wyoming; Jill (Paul) Wojno of Vassar, Michigan; and Patricia Chelenyak (Patrick Offman) of Anna Maria Island, Florida.The loves of her life were her grandchildren; Mark (Temple) Drummond, Jaime Drummond, Glenn (Ginny) Drummond, Abbey (Mauricio) Wojno, Tai (Lindsey) Scelfo, Adam (Elia) Wojno, and Kayla Scelfo; great grandchildren; Atticus and Amelia Cheman.Shirley was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Gladwin, Michigan. Per her wishes, cremation has taken place and a Funeral Mass was held privately at Blessed Trinity Catholic Church in Frankenmuth.
