John Finkbeiner

John William Finkbeiner, age 73, of Saginaw, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 1, 2016, in Saginaw. The son of Norman and Emma Finkbeiner, John was born August 26, 1942, in West Branch.John was an avid outdoorsman, who especially loved hunting, fishing, golfing, and bowling. He was a longtime member of the Moose Lodge and the Knights of Columbus. John volunteered at St. Andrew Catholic Church throughout his life, as well as the Ecumenical Food Pantry at First Presbyterian Church. He especially loved spending time with his family and adored his grandchildren.John is survived by his wife, Mary; children, Teresa (Curt) Mielke and John (Karin) Finkbeiner II; grandchildren, Bailey and Spencer Mielke and Nolan and Regan Finkbeiner; sister, Norma (Bruce) Bedore; brothers and sisters-in-law, Bill (Jan) Pringle, Pat (Gordon) Jewett, Carole (Dick) Mellott, and Edith Burr; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. John was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings, Norman Finkbeiner, Carley Tallman, George Newell, and Robert Newell. Visitation will take place Wednesday, May 4, 2016, 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Fischer Family Funeral Home, 504 N. Michigan Avenue, Saginaw, MI 48602. The Rosary will be prayed at 3:30 p.m. and a Prayer Service will take place at 7:00 p.m.Visitation will continue on Thursday, May 5, 2016, 9:00 a.m. until time of Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. at St. Andrew Catholic Church Site of Christ the Good Shepherd Parish, 612 N. Michigan Avenue, Saginaw, MI 48602. Rev. Fr. Ronald Wagner will officiate. Interment will be at St. Andrew Cemetery, Saginaw.Memorials may be made to the Ecumenical Food Pantry of First Presbyterian Church, 121 S. Harrison Street, Saginaw, MI 48602.
