Jeanette Sherman, age 94, of Saginaw, passed away Monday, December 5, 2016, at HealthSource Saginaw. The daughter of William and Leona Landwehr, Jeanette was born May 19, 1922, in Shepherd, MI. She married Herbert Sherman on September 12, 1953.Jeanette was a longtime member of St. Andrew Catholic Church, where she enjoyed working and volunteering. She loved gardening, knitting, sewing, and baking.Jeanette is survived by her beloved children, Herbert, Jr. (Rebecah), Robert (Corinna), Loretta Strieter, Susan (Robert) Mellon, and Elaine (Brad) Ritter; 14 loving grandchildren; many great grandchildren; dear siblings, Donald Landwehr, Doris Kinsman, Shirley (Pete) Reed, Ruth (Del) Smolinski, and Judi Pawloski; many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Jeanette was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her son, William, and her brother, Gerald Landwehr.Visitation will take place Thursday, December 8, 2016, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with a Vigil Service at 7:00 p.m. at Fischer Family Funeral Home, 504 N. Michigan Ave., Saginaw, MI 48602. Visitation will continue Friday, December 9, 2016, from 10:00 a.m. until time of Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. at St. Andrew Catholic Church Site of Christ the Good Shepherd Parish, 612 N. Michigan Avenue, Saginaw, MI 48602. Rev. Fr. Ronald Wagner will officiate. Interment will take place at St. Andrew Catholic Cemetery.Memorials in Jeanette's name may be made to the Ecumenical Food Pantry of First Presbyterian Church, 121 S. Harrison Street, Saginaw, MI 48602.

My condolances to Jeanettes family. May God send His peace to your hearts in the coming days. God is good - all the time ~ and now has Jeanette w/Him in heaven. Jeanette and I kept in touch for many years. The last few not so much but managed to track Herb down one day in Saginaw and found Jeanette was having some problems and no longer in her home. Dear Elaine and Family, I am so sorry to hear of the death of your mother. Mother's are not supposed to die but Jesus knows better than we do. My own mother passed on just 13 years ago. His love for her is enormous and I'm sure she would want each one of you to share God's love with each other especially at this sad, sad time. Elaine, I pray for you each day and numerous times throughout the day. I will be remembering all of your siblings and relatives in my prayers. We can all trust in God's graciousness. Your dear Mother is in His safe, warm and loving arms. May God's peace live in your hearts and minds. With His Grace we can find restfulness and hope to continue to live for Him.
