Carmen Burrola, age 70, of Saginaw, Michigan, passed away surrounded by family on Friday, August 24, 2018, in Saginaw.
The daughter of Miguel and Louisa Carreon, Carmen was born on October 8, 1947, in Saginaw, Michigan.
Carmen had a strong Christian faith and was very involved at her church, often devoting her time to prayer meetings. Spending time with her sons, grandchildren, and friends was very important to her, as well the time she spent with her dear friends, Nancy Cardenas, Dolores Ortiz, and Susie Trevino. Carmen was also a caregiver for over 38 years to her friend, Nancy Cardenas. Carmen enjoyed watching Korean dramas and loved taking trips to California as often as possible to visit her children and family, including her mother in law, Esperanza Lopez and her son, Pete Burrola Jr.; sisters in law, Flo, Carol, Linda, and Cindy, and her brothers in law, David and Danny Burrola. Carmen will be remembered for her infectious laugh, huge smile, and her fierce spirit.
Carmen is survived by her loving children, Mr. Peter C. Burrola (and his significant other, Catherine Miller), Mr. & Mrs. Richard (Sandy) Burrola, Mr. & Mrs. David (Laarni) Burrola, and Mr. Miguel Gregorio Burrola (and his significant other, Aliza Hipshman); grandchildren, Santino Burrola, Salina Burrola, Octover Burrola, Carmen Burrola, Maria Burrola, Sophia Burrola, and Gabrielle Burrola; great grandchildren, Salysia Elena Burrola, Eliana Reya Burrola, and Santino Rey Burrola II; and great-granddaughter, Keilani Corazon Sosa Galicia; her brother and sisters, Miguel Carreon, Juan (Clyda) Carreon, Francisca (Jose) Medina, Guadalupe (Rosa) Carreon; and former daughter-in-law, Elisa Gomez; nieces, nephews, and many cousins.
Carmen was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 30, 2018, from 4:00 p.m. until time of the Memorial Mass at 5:00 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 910 N. Sixth Avenue, Saginaw, Michigan 48601.

I miss you so much, ma. Some days I’m so happy you don’t have to experience what the world leaves behind & others days I feel so sad because I know if the circumstances were a little different, you would still be here.
The moment I entered this world up until the last days I spent with with were my favorite sparkling_heart I followed you wherever you went (because I didn’t have a choice lol) but I’d do it all over again if I did! My life has been a gift & an honor to have had you as a mother first, a best friend second & a grandmother who loves unconditionally & effortlessly 🤍 I have been very fortunate to have great leaders in my life.
