George Samuel Sayers, age 67, of Saginaw, passed away surrounded by family on Saturday, April 13, 2019.
The son of Samuel and Virginia Sayers, George was born on September 6, 1951, in Saginaw, Michigan.
George was a hard worker and dedicated 31.8 years to General Motors before retiring in April of 2001. He was a member of UAW Local 467, enjoyed watching Western films, MASH, and reading. Most importantly, George was baptized as a Jehovah's Witness on March 17, 1984, and he loved preaching door to door. He was a member of Saginaw Central Congregation.
George is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Vina Sayers; children, Daniel Sayers, Michelle (Scot) Pickelmann, Lisa Gazella, and Scott Sayers; grandchildren, Caroline LaRock, Nicholas LaRock, and Noah Sayers; siblings, Barbara Stahl and Gary (Kim) Sayers; father in law, Noah (Safronia) Williams; brothers and sisters in law, Joyce Williams, Melva (Duane) Allen, Noah Williams, Kenneth Williams, and Patricia (Eric) Johnson; nephews, and nieces, including special niece, Amanda Sayers; special friends, Horace and Sandra Curry, Alton Wicker, Ron and Louise Coleman, Patricia Gill, and Shirley Thomas; and many other dear friends.
George was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Virginia Sayers; sisters, Kathy Veron and Penny Sayers; mother in law, Lillie Williams; and sisters in law, Betty Loving and Lillie Williams.
Visitation will take place Wednesday, April 17, 2019, from 11:00 a.m. until time of Funeral Service at 1:00 p.m. at Fischer Family Funeral Home, 504 N. Michigan Avenue, Saginaw, Michigan 48602. Elders Horace Curry and Alton Wicker will officiate. Burial will take place at Eastlawn Memorial Gardens, Saginaw.
