Obituary
Thomas “Tom” Richard Murphy, age 78, of Saginaw, passed away peacefully surrounded by family, Monday, April 29, 2019.
He was born on October 17, 1940 to Michael and Henrietta (nee Haag) Murphy in Saginaw.
Tom worked as an electrician for General Motors for more than 30 years. He then went on to work for Haselbeck Electric for roughly 10 years. Tom loved camping up north, at Leelanau Pines with his family. He most enjoyed tubing and fishing with his grandchildren or any time spent on the family's boat. Tom was a big U of M Sports Fan, and enjoyed watching the Tigers and Red Wings.
Tom is survived by his loving wife of nearly 56 years, Kathy (nee Stricker) Murphy; children, Greg Murphy, Laura Mahood, and Lisa (Bob) Ronk; grandchildren, Adam Ronk, Emma Ronk and Jenna Mahood; sisters, Janice Hoffman and Patricia Krawczak; many nieces, nephews and extended family.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Jim Murphy, Larry Murphy; and their parents.
Memorial Visitation will take place on Saturday, May 18, 2019, from 9:30a.m., until the time of Memorial Mass at 10:30a.m., at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 5376 State Street, Saginaw, MI, 48638. Rev. Fr. Richard Bokinskie will officiate.
Private interment will take place at St. Andrew Catholic Cemetery at a future date.
