Almeda Marie Baranowski, age 100, of Overland Park, Kansas, formerly of Frankenmuth, MI, passed away on Wednesday, July 24, 2019, surrounded by family.
She was born on March 3, 1919, to Julius and Marie Gensch in Merrill, Michigan.
She graduated from Merrill High School and was active in many sports. After graduating from Saginaw Business School, she worked for many years at the Veteran's Hospital in Saginaw where she met her husband Ted. They eventually moved to Frankenmuth, MI, and she was a long time member of St. Lorenz Lutheran Church and enjoyed many activities.
Almeda is survived by her children, Theodore (Sharon) Baranowski, Craig Baranowski, and Barry (Lauri) Baranowski; grandchildren, Aimee Baranowski, Drew (Adrienne) Baranowski, and Jordan (Kim Leibold) Baranowski; great grandchildren, Elaina and Edson Baranowski; siblings, Chester (the late Marge) Gensch of Merrill, MI and Dorothy “Boots” Demers of Phoenix, AZ; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Theodore Baranowski, in 2002.
Visitation will take place Thursday, August 1, 2019, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. at Fischer Family Funeral Home, 504 N. Michigan Avenue, Saginaw, MI 48602.
Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Saginaw.
Memorials in honor of Almeda may be made to the American Cancer Society, Post Office Box 22478, Oklahoma City, OK 73123 or to an animal welfare organization of your choice.

My Condolences to the Baranowski family...Barry and I went to school together and I remember Mrs. Baranowski had the prettiest flowers. Rest in peace

Almeda was my favorite client. She always wanted me to come out to the house and pick vegetables from her garden. And then there were the African Gray birds that use to yell at me. She would laugh. Rest in peace beautiful lady.
