Obituary
Brendan Arthur Moore, beloved son, brother, grandson, uncle, and friend, went to his heavenly home while surrounded by family on Sunday, January 5, 2020, at the age of 18, at C.S. Mott Children's Hospital at University of Michigan Medical Center.
The son of Kristine and Kevin Moore, Brendan was born on March 22, 2001, in Saginaw, Michigan.
Brendan loved many things in life, but he especially enjoyed being outdoors, fishing (particularly in the Boardman River in Traverse City), riding his UTV, which he received from Make A Wish Foundation, cars, and being an Uncle to his niece, Naomi. Brendan had the experience of a memorable weekend in Houghton Lake riding his UTV and just being one of the guys. Brendan was also a talented cook and even created his own salmon recipe, which he shared with Westlund Autism Clinic Staff. With all of his hobbies and talents, he also found out he was surprisingly good at finding treasures at garage sales. Brendan had a good, dry sense of humor and was an incredibly loving and caring person.
Brendan is survived by his parents, Kevin and Kristine Moore; sister, Amber (Dariun) Abdo; niece, Naomi Abdo; grandparents, Robert and Carol George; grandmother, Ann Moore; uncle and aunts, Gary (Renee) George, Janet (Nick) Bodis, and Jennifer (Billy) Putman; Godfather, Matt George; many cousins. He was preceded in death by his sister, Karlie Moore; grandfather, Arthur Moore; and aunt, Peggy George.
Brendan's family would like to thank the many caregivers, nurses, and doctors who have been so dedicated and hardworking in caring for him, including Nurse Nancy and Dr. Hani Zreik for the past 18 years, Dr. Richard Ohye, Dr. Kurt Schumacher, Dr. Michael Gaies, Dr. David Peng, Dr. Mandy McCormick, his physical therapist, Mandy, his occupational therapist, Amanda, and all of the nursing staff at 10 and 11 West. We will forever remember your kindness.
Visitation will take place Thursday, January 9, 2020, from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Fischer Family Funeral Home, 504 N. Michigan Avenue, Saginaw, MI 48602. Visitation will continue on Friday, January 10, 2020, at St. John's Lutheran Church, 4705 Brockway Road, Saginaw, MI 48638, from 10:00 a.m. until time of Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. Burial will take place at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Saginaw.
