Obituary
Francis “Frank” Joseph Salget, age 86, of Saginaw, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 5, 2020. The son of Jeremiah and Helen Salget, Frank was born May 22, 1933, in Saginaw, Michigan.
Frank graduated from St. Andrew Catholic High School, where he played football. His love of sports was lifelong. A value for work was instilled in Frank at a young age. He worked at Salget Coal Yard as a boy. He went on to work for Flack Pannel and then General Motors, retiring after many years of service. Frank enjoyed trips to the casino, loved teasing and joking with family and friends, and had a constant friend in his late, beloved dog, Patty, who followed Frank wherever he went.
Frank is survived by his loving companion of 60 years, Esther Cline; sisters, Mary Clayton and Dorothy Magnus; sister-in-law, Jean Salget; Esther's sisters, Willo Birchmeir and her children, and Beatrice (the late Hugh) Smith and her sons, Daniel, Philip, and Andrew; many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jeremiah and Helen Salget; brother, Jerry Salget; sister, Helen Salget; brother-in-law, John “Jack” Clayton.
A graveside service will be held at a later date at Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery, Saginaw.
Memorials in honor of Frank may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Attn: Memorial Giving, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

My condolences to Ester & Frank's family. You're in my thoughts & Prayers.
Frank & his family were next door neighbors. One of the things I'll never forget is playing softball (when I was a little kid) with him & the gang from our neighborhood. The thing ishe never wore a baseball glove. Frank was always so cheerful and funny.
Always had a story or joke to tell. He treated people like he wanted to be treated.
I will always cherish the memories of him and his entire family. An honor to say he was my friend.
