Fredrick “Fred” John Ziehl, age 80, of Saginaw, passed away on Monday, July 6, 2020, at his home. The son of Ernest and Albertine Ziehl, Fred was born March 30, 1940, in Tawas, Michigan.
Fred retired from GM after 33 years of working as a journeyman welder. He served as the president of his local union chapter for 6 years. After retirement from GM, Fred operated his own remodeling business until his death.
Fred is survived by his son, Bryce Ziehl; his grandson, McCoy Ziehl; and his brother, Herbert Ziehl. He was preceded in death by his sister, Ernestine Potts, and his parents, Ernest and Albertine Ziehl.

Fred was such a nice and helpful person. He was also so talented in many fields. Beside restoring cars, he was also an incredible tailor. He made suits for himself and others. He had also made some dresses for me. He was ready to help when needed and I appreciated that.
