Obituary
Norman Emil Hess, Jr., age 77, of Saginaw, passed away on Tuesday, August 4, 2020, with family by his side. The son of Norman and Arlene Hess, Norman was born on September 11, 1942, in Saginaw, Michigan.
Norman proudly served in the U.S. Navy for 4 years and was a dedicated employee with UPS for 32 years. He was a member of St. Martin Lutheran Church in Birch Run, where he was very active as an elder and served on church council. Norman loved woodworking, long day trips, boar and bear hunting, camping in the RV, and animals. He will be greatly missed by his family.
Norman is survived by his children, Bruce (Jen) Hess, Donna (Ron) Richardson, Earl (Brenda) Hess, and Cindy Aguillard; 6 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; siblings, David Hess, Jim Hess, and John (Katie) Hess. He was preceded in death by his high school sweetheart and wife, Carolyn Hess, and his parents, Norman and Arlene Hess.
Visitation will take place on Saturday, August 8, 2020, from 10:00 a.m. until time of Funeral Service at 12:00 p.m. at Fischer Family Funeral Home, 504 N. Michigan Avenue, Saginaw, MI 48602. In accordance with current state mandated restrictions, social distancing and limitations on number gathered within the building will be observed. Attendees are also kindly asked to wear a mask or other facial covering, per state requirements. Norman's funeral service will be held outdoors and is limited to 100 people, per state requirements. Social distancing and masks are also still required. Pastor Joe Cottam will officiate. Interment will take place at Chapel Hill Mausoleum, Freeland, at a later date.
Memorials in honor of Norman may be made to St. Martin Lutheran Church, 10995 Canada Road, Birch Run, MI 48415. Funds will go towards youth trips to the VA Hospital to visit and support patients.

I will always remember, how we use to call each other names!! We would never just say HI, it has to be name calling, that is how I will always remember him!! So OLD MAN, have fun in Heaven, give Carolyn a big bear hug from me and try be behave yourself up there!! heartheartheart

Mr. Hess to me was an absolutely great man , he was so kind to me all the the time he had such a heart so big I don’t nobody realized it , I cared Mr Hess along time he always put a smile on my face as I did him , he was always excited to see me . . Donna I am so sorry for ur lose I know he will be greatly missed .. he would tell me he would act up with other works just to piss them, off .. lol we always had such stories . I would go visit him and take hot fudge sundae after I retired .. not in his diet lol we would visit and he would tell on everybody there we would just laugh .. he was good for me . I was good for him RIP Mr Hess l will miss U
