David “Dave” Thomas Furtaw, age 58, passed away unexpectedly at home on Tuesday, September 29, 2020.
The son of Marion and Donald Furtaw, Dave was born on March 23, 1962, in Saginaw, Michigan. He married Jodie Psetas on January 24, 1986.
Dave loved snowmobiling, watching NASCAR, and old, classic cars. If you ever went out with him, you knew he'd order his favorite: a cheeseburger, fries, and a beer. Dave's greatest joy in life was his family and close friends. He was proud of his children and loved watching their sporting events – he never missed a game or an important moment in their lives. Dave loved being a Papa and Pop and was excited to watch his grandchildren grow up.
Dave is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Jodie Furtaw (Psetas); children, Josh (Ellie) Furtaw, Kaitlyn (Joseph) Voss, and Thadd (Mariah) Furtaw; grandchildren, Oliver Furtaw, Rosalyn Voss, Adalyn Voss, Judah Voss, Emma Furtaw, Hadley Furtaw, and William Furtaw; his mother, Marion Kuch; sister, Karen (Don) Maxson; brother Duane (Melissa) Furtaw; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Furtaw.
Memorial Visitation will take place on Saturday, October 3, 2020 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., at Fischer Family Funeral Home, 504 N. Michigan Avenue, Saginaw, Michigan 48602. In accordance with current state mandated restrictions, social distancing and limitations on number gathered within the building will be observed. Attendees are also kindly asked to wear a mask or other facial covering while inside the funeral home, per state requirements.
Memorials in honor of Dave may be made to his family to be used in accordance with their wishes.

I met Dave from working with Jodie, we became great friends, one day Dave had a cyst behind his ear. Me being the nurse I am, reassured him that we could fix it. Then I told him "see we are done, we removed your ear and now no more worries. The look on his face was priceless. From then on I called him noear. Jodi of course, comforted him with her laughter. I love them both, they are like family, he will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him. My condolences to the family.
