Obituary
Patricia “Pat” Ann Koenig, age 79, passed away at Hoyt Nursing & Rehab Centre. The daughter of Salih Kalel and Nazetta Farrah, Pat was born on April 22, 1941, in St. Louis, Missouri. She married Dr. Nick Koenig on June 12, 1965 and they shared 44 years of marriage. He preceded her in death in 2009.
Over the years, Pat had two careers. She received her Bachelor's of Science in Nursing degree from De Paul Hospital Nursing School, in 1961. Pat was a pediatric nurse at Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. It was in St. Louis she met and married the love of her life, Nick. They moved to Saginaw, Nick's hometown, where she met and made many lifelong friends. She began her second career as a Real Estate Broker/Owner and retired after 25 years in the business. Pat loved her granddaughters, shopping, and socializing with her many friends. Over the years Pat was active in the Saginaw Medical Society, Boys and Girls Club, Saginaw Board of Realtors, and St. Raymond Maronite Church in her hometown of St. Louis, Missouri.
Pat is survived by her loving children, Joseph “Joe” (Jean) Koenig, Mimi (Matt) Shier, and Mike (Amy) Koenig; beloved grandchildren, Jordyn Koenig, Kaitlyn Koenig, Heather Shier, and Ruby Koenig. She leaves behind many beloved nieces and nephews. She appreciated and adored her nephew, Jeff Koenig, who always loved and protected her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Nick Koenig, her parents, and her 12 siblings.
Cremation has taken place. Due to the ongoing pandemic, Pat's family plans to hold a memorial mass at a future date when it is safe to gather again.

Dear Koenigs - on behalf of my mom, Jo Vitu, and family, please accept our sincere condolences on the loss of your mom, Pat. She was a true original with a big personality and heart to match; a great lady who will be missed by many who were fortunate to be included in her large, loving circle. Pat will always have a place in my heart! We worked so well together, Real Estate was our connection at first but friendship soon followed. She loved her family and I wish them my best at this sad time. RIP Pat.
