William Francis Denardo, age 87, of Haslett, Michigan, passed away with his family by his side on Tuesday, December 8, 2020, at Hospice House of Mid-Michigan on the campus of Sparrow Hospital, Lansing, Michigan.
The son of Antonio and Maymie Denardo, William "Bill" was born on February 23, 1933, in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Bill and his wife Alice loved the outdoors, keeping a beautifully landscaped yard, flower gardens, and fish ponds. They attended New Hope Church in East Lansing. He spent the early part of his career as a teacher and later as an Administrator at Lansing Community College.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 68 years, Alice Denardo; loving children, Daniel “Dan” (Kay) Denardo, Tim (Peggy) Denardo, and Karen (Brett Brouwer) Denardo; adored grandchildren, Dawn (Ben) Hyrman, and Sara (John) Jordan, and Danny Denardo; great grandson, Markie Jordan; brother, Thomas “Tom” Denardo; and their dear nephew, Alan (Mary Beth) Wass. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Bill was a United States Navy Korean War Veteran. Memorials may be made to Ingham County Veteran Affairs.
Services will be planned for a later date.

Bill was a dear friend of Ron and mine we did a few cruises together and enjoyed going up North with them. We tried to reach him and Alice many times he stoped here at the end of the summer and that was the last time Ron visit with him. Ron worked with Bill at Home Depot and went fishing with him. We are sorry we didn’t know how bad he was and we could have gone to see him. May he Rest In Peace. He will be missed.

I worked with Bill at Home Depot many years ago...I always loved working with him. The stories and advice. And of course the sass. If he didn't like what was going on or the comments made, he gave you his two cents worth. :) I really enjoyed that. Yes, there were times I just wanted to give him a piece of my mind, but I was taught to respect my elders. ;)
I am so sorry for your loss. He was a great man and I am sure he will be greatly missed. Know he is loved by many.

My wife and I had the privilege of living across the street from Bill and Alice in Haslett for 26 years. Bill was always very friendly and kind. Bill was my go-to guy when I was about to start a yard or home improvement project. He knew how to do a lot of things. I was about 20 years younger than him, but he definitely outworked me. He was a wonderful friend, a kind person and a great neighbor. Our heartfelt sympathies to Alice and the rest of his family.
