Obituary
Sean Robert Hopkins, age 30, of Saginaw, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, January 19, 2021. The son of Celia (Rodriguez) and Steven Hopkins, Sean was born February 4, 1990, in New Orleans, Louisiana.
Sean graduated from Heritage High School where he played football. He went on to attend Central Michigan University and earned two associate's degrees. Sean enjoyed fishing and loved his mom's cooking. He was incredibly smart and great with computers. Sean was a loving, sweet son, brother, and friend.
Sean is survived by his parents, Celia Hopkins and Steven Hopkins; his sister, Lauren (Justin) Blazejewski and their baby due this spring; aunts and uncles, Maribel (Gilberto) Arriaga, Eunice (Afif) Hazim, Dina (Jorge) Castellon, Gonzalo (Ileana) Rodriguez, Maira Rodriguez and Thomas Hopkins; cousins, Melissa Cantele, Michael McKinley, Samira Hazim, Jonathan Rodriguez, Gonzalo Rodriguez, and Kristina Rodriguez, Gilbert Arriaga, and Gonzalo Arriaga. Sean was preceded in death by his grandparents, Celia and Leopoldo Rodriguez, and Robert and Jacqueline Hopkins; and his aunt, Kathleen Hopkins.
Visitation will take place Sunday, January 24, 2021, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Fischer Family Funeral Home, 504 N. Michigan Avenue, Saginaw, MI 48602. In accordance with current state mandated restrictions, safe distancing and limitations on number gathered within the building will be observed. Attendees are also kindly asked to wear a mask or other facial covering while inside the funeral home, per state requirement.
Due to the ongoing pandemic, a private family funeral service will take place on Sunday, January 24, 2021, at 7:00 p.m. Those who wish to participate virtually may do so by utilizing the Zoom link below:
