Obituary
Marilyn Louise Houghteling, age 69, of Bridgeport, passed away at her home on Wednesday, January 27, 2021. The daughter of Howard and Inez Haebler, Marilyn was born on October 25, 1951, in Bay City, Michigan.
Marilyn was a graduate of Akron Fairgrove High School. She dedicated herself to her career as a case worker with the State of Michigan for nearly 30 years. When she was younger, she enjoyed playing softball and helping with her children's sporting and school activities. She had a special place in her heart for animals. Throughout Marilyn's life, family was always the most important thing. She was a natural caregiver and was the glue that held her beloved family together.
Marilyn is survived by her loving children, Melissa Houghteling and Marty Houghteling; grandchildren, Mitchell Houghteling and Jennifer Houghteling; great grandchild, Mila Houghteling; former spouse, Gary Houghteling; and siblings, Carol Adams, Arthur Haebler, Lou Ann Haebler Blissick, and Richard Haebler. She was preceded in death by her brother, Gary Haebler, and her parents.
Cremation has taken place and no services are currently planned for Marilyn.
