To the family and friends of Butch. I have known Butch for over five decades. I well remember his meticulously maintained house and yard and I remember his kindness. I learned of his death yesterday which saddened me. I also learned of the devotion of his daughter, Terri Lee, who maintained a vigil during her dear father’s final days. Butch was blessed with a loving daughter, siblings, nieces, nephews and nieces . Rest In Peace, Butch. You deserve the peace and comfort that only heaven can provide.

Andy, Jamie, and Family,
Since I am unable to be present today, I offer you my respect for the passing of your father, father-in-law, and grandfather. Andy, I recall a child-like excitement you shared when you once told me that your dad was coming over to go out to dinner with you and the time how you comfort your dad by telling him how nice it would be to move to the lake house and how you both could go on the pontoon and fish or just go for a ride.
Change is never easy, yet inevitable. I never truly got to know your father, for when we spoke, it was always of you or another family member.
Andy, your father loved you and was proud of you and the whole family. I green this from conversation with your father, or should I write monologue, for it was always favorable about you.
Jamie, your father-in-law was supportive of you as Andy's wife and the mother of his grandchildren, and also loved you dearly. Once day when he came to your house, he spoke joyfully with me and said, "I brought Jamie some beer. She's a good person." That same day, he brought treats for your dogs and also Spencer.
When you were putting the family house up for sale, your dad sat on the porch swing swinging (no, not the song - LOL), but swinging recalling how he enjoyed swinging with the girls for hours and missed those days of past when your girls were small.
He was very proud and loved you both unconditionally.
It seems in life we don't always say what we want to say or may say something we don't want to say. Fortunately, love prevails and is everlasting. I found your patriarch to be a faithful man, believing in a loving, merciful God of all. And with certainty, I know this: this faith which brought much comfort, whether he expressed it verbally or not, his actions spoke it.
I pray and hope that you may during this time of sorrow come to reflect with faith only the many, many blessings that we all receive, especially in one another, always looking forward to the day we are all united together with all we love.
May God continue to be with you, be assured of my prayers for you, be at peace.
Your neighbor in Christ,
Greg
