Obituary
Sarah Ann Rattray, age 63, of Saginaw, passed away on Tuesday, July 13, 2021, at her home while surrounded by family. The daughter of Robert and Shirley (Dixon) Rattray, Sarah was born on May 14, 1958, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. After 20 years together, she married Elaine Kinney in 2015. Elaine preceded Sarah in death in 2020.
Sarah was a dedicated and loved librarian at Butman-Fish Library for 25 years. She was very progressive, a fierce advocate for gay rights, and enjoyed giving to various charities that she knew would make a difference in the world. Sarah loved being in nature, reading, meditation, gardening, and animals, especially her adopted shelties.
Sarah is survived by her siblings, Dawn (Fred) Fobear and Steven (Anita) Rattray; nieces and nephews, Dr. Kat Fobear, Melissa (Stacy Makris) Fobear, Ed Chinevere, and Alicia Rattray; great nephews and niece, Niko Makris, Kaia Makris, and Kai Rattray. Sarah was preceded in death by her loving wife, Elaine Kinney; and her parents, Robert and Shirley Rattray.
Honoring Sarah's wishes, cremation has taken place. No services are planned at this time.
