Obituary
Ronald Eugene Fischer, age 75, of Merrill, passed away on Thursday, September 2, 2021, after a two-year battle with cancer. The son of Ernest Ludwig and Lenore (Riedel) Fischer, Ronald was born December 11, 1945, in Saginaw, Michigan. He married Mary Lou Voelker on December 7, 1968. Together they shared 52 years of marriage.
Ronald worked for Schmerheim Electric Service for 25 years and then drove for Martin Transportation Service until retiring in 2010. He also enjoyed working for Trinklein Farms hauling grain in the fall. Ronald loved antique John Deere tractors, of which he owned many that he restored with his son, Ron. He also belonged to many tractor clubs over the years. He loved to use them for pulls and plow days. Ronald also had a great interest in classic cars, especially Chevrolets. He enjoyed many years of camping across the United States and spent winters in Florida with his wife.
Ronald is survived by his beloved wife, Mary Lou Fischer; loving children, Ronald Eugene II (Lori) Fischer, Lisa Virginia (Larry) Williams, and Marcus Wesley Ernest (Ami) Fischer; adored grandchildren, Ronnie Fischer III, Brandy Williams, Katie Williams, Madelyn Fischer, and Ashley Wright; and two dear fur babies. He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Flavian Fischer; 3 infant siblings; and his grandparents.
Ronald's family wishes to extend a special thank you to the Moffit Cancer Center of Tampa, Florida, Covenant Cancer Center of Saginaw, Michigan, and Covenant Visiting Nurses Association.
Visitation will take place on Wednesday, September 8, 2021, from 12:00 p.m. until time of Funeral Service at 2:00 p.m. at Fischer Family Funeral Home, 504 N. Michigan Avenue, Saginaw, MI 48602. Burial will take place at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Saginaw.

Mary Lou and family,
I was so surprised to hear of Ron's passing as he has been on our prayer list for sometime. I am so sorry Mary Lou & family for your loss . Ron will be missed here in Tippecanoe Village. While I know Ron knew the Lord the loss is still great and will be here in the park

Our hearts are heavy for the entire family. Dave & I remember our absolutely beautiful trip to Hawaii to be with our children to get married. Rest in Heaven Ron.
