Barry Sedgwick

Barry and I have been friends for nearly 40 years. I always admired him for his enthusiasm for life. We share many of the same beliefs and values, especially love of country. We also believed in our the United States Air Force Core Values: Integrity First, Service Before Self and Excellence In All We Do. When Barry came into my office our core conversations centered directly or indirectly around these shared values. He would also entertain me about his love of canoeing. I never shared his canoeing experiences but we did share our love of the outdoors. I always admired Barry’s fitness. Over the years Barry didn’t see to change much. I told him that he didn’t seem to change and he took that as a compliment. Same old Barry over years. Since I retired a few years ago I reached out to him on occasion. COVID restrictions put a pause on many relationships over the past 18 months. The last time I visited him, he share with me his back room with all his military books and awards. To me it was fitting room for a wonderful a American patriot. I miss our long conversations but I am blessed to have known him. May God bless Barry and his family. Lee Lemon
