Donald “Don” Paul Gaines, age 57, of Saginaw, passed away on Friday, June 3, 2022. The son of Lindel and Lola (Stevens) Gaines, Don was born June 14, 1963, in Flint, Michigan. He married Hiedi Creighton on November 6, 1981 and they shared 40 years together.
Don was an avid outdoorsman who especially enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was an excellent landscaper and absolutely loved taking care of lawns. He also enjoyed woodworking, but his favorite pastime was spending time with his beloved and adored grandchildren.
Don is survived by his wife, Hiedi Gaines; children, Donald Gaines (significant other, Kayla Davila), and Megan Gaines (fiancé, Robert Albert); grandchildren, Brandon Gaines, Cera Gaines, Leylani Gaines, Summer Gaines, Navaeha Gaines, Marlyanna Gaines, and Leland Garchow; siblings, Lonnie Mears, Darwin Gaines, Dale Mears, Glenda Oliverez, and Claudia. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Brandette Gaines; parents, and his siblings, Ricky Mears, Ronnie Mears, Cammie Gaines, and Mona.
Honoring Don's wishes, cremation has taken place and services will be held at a later date.
