Obituary

Faye Holcomb Ousley, beloved Gammie and Mimi to her grandchildren, died peacefully in her sleep on the morning of April 25, 2022, in Saginaw, Michigan with family by her side. A liturgy of Burial with Holy Communion will take place at noon on Thursday, June 23, 2022, at Holy Spirit Episcopal Church, 1624 Wooded Acres Dr. Waco, TX. The family will greet those attending at a brief reception following the liturgy. A private interment will take place later that day.

A resident of Waco, TX for almost 50 years, Faye was born in 1939 in the Texas Panhandle
community of Lakeview to Robert Martin and Grace Stewart Holcomb. A member of the
Palestine High School graduating class of 1957, she married her high school sweetheart, John R.
Ousley in December 1958. They lived in Huntsville, Palestine, Richardson, and Waxahachie,
Texas prior to moving to Waco in December 1968. Faye was known for her strong East Texas
accent, creative sayings, and bunny-themed home decorations. She and John were passionate
followers of Baylor Bear basketball, in particular the Lady Bears, and antiquing during the
offseason, which was evident in their home furnishings. Faye enjoyed gardening; held frequent
long phone calls with friends to catch-up on life's happenings; and was the maker of legendary
salsa and peanut butter fudge. However, her most significant joy came from raising two loving
sons ordained in the Episcopal Church, watching her five beloved grandchildren and one
granddaughter-in-law grow into outstanding young adults, and adoring her first great-
grandchild.

She is survived by her precious shepherd/lab mix of 11 years, Callie; sister-in-law, Patricia Ousley Tubbs of Norman, OK; sons and daughters-in-law, Todd Ousley and Ann Schumann-
Ousley of Saginaw, MI, and Lance Ousley and Jenness Bundy Ousley of Houston, TX; grandchildren, Ian and Ciara Ousley of Bellefonte, PA, Parkes Ousley of Los Angeles, CA, Dae Ousley of Saginaw, MI, Evans Ousley of Denver, CO, and Josh Ousley of Grand Rapids, MI, and great-grandson, Adrian Bailey of Saginaw, MI; numerous nieces and nephews; and, longtime dear friends, Ed and Ellen Lee, Ceylon Hood, and Felicia and Dan Brown.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Ousley; her parents, Martin and Grace Holcomb; and her siblings, Doug Holcomb, Lee Crump, and Emma Lou Visage.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Episcopal Church of the Holy Spirit, the National Adrenal Diseases Foundation, or your local animal shelter or rescue.

The family invites you to leave memories, messages, and sign the Guest Book at www.fischerfuneral.com. For information, please call Fischer Family Funeral Services at (989) 755-8277.
