Obituary
Harvey William Reimer, age 82, of Bridgeport, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 20, 2022. The son of Harold and Helen (Gaertner) Reimer, Harvey was born November 17, 1939, in Bridgeport, Michigan. He married Sandy Harmon on February 23, 1963. Together they shared 54 years of love, laughter, and tears until her passing in August of 2017.
Harvey proudly served in the US Navy on the USS Monticello LSD 35 from 1958 to 1962. He eventually retired from the Saginaw County Road Commission after a long and fulfilling career. Harvey had a knack for fixing and building just about anything he set his mind to. He loved hunting and he was an excellent, skilled woodworker. Harvey was a proud member of Faith Lutheran Church in Bridgeport. His faith was always important, a lasting gift that he has passed on to his children and family.
Harvey is the loving father of Debbie (Darwin) Medearis, Barb Reimer (Sandy Smith), Marty Reimer (Steve Rodriguez), and Scott (Debbie) Reimer; adored Papa of Kyle and Ryan Medearis, Caleb, Megan, and Mackenzie Reimer. Harvey was a dear uncle, brother-in-law, and friend to many. He also leaves behind special family, Louise Roby, who was like a daughter, Alicia (John) Leffler, who was like a granddaughter, and Alicia's daughters, Erin and Samantha, who were like Harvey's great granddaughters.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Sandy Reimer; his parents, Harold and Helen Reimer; and his siblings, Gertrude Bierlein, Geraldine Fahrenbruch, Lucinda Adams, Donald Reimer, and Janet Munson.
Visitation will be held Friday, May 27, 2022, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Fischer Family Funeral Home, 504 N. Michigan Avenue, Saginaw, Michigan 48602. Visitation will continue Saturday, May 28, 2022, from 10:00 a.m. until time of Memorial Service at 11:00 a.m. at Faith Lutheran Church, 4241 Williamson Road, Bridgeport, Michigan 48722.
Harvey and Sandy's cremated remains will be buried privately at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Michigan.
Memorials in honor of Harvey may be made to Faith Lutheran Church in Bridgeport, care of the church.

We will always remember the good times with all of your family at St. James. Harvey was a strong voice in the bass section of our choir for many years. He sang well, laughed much and was a good friend to all. So sorry we will miss the funeral, would have loved to see you all and share a good hug! Danielles youngest is graduating from High school in Findlay, Ohio on Saturday morning.. Condolences to all of you, love Dave and Pat Sommer.
