Obituary
Silvia Flores Santoya, age 84, of Saginaw, entered into eternal life on Friday, May 27, 2022, in the comfort of her home while surrounded by family. She was born on November 24, 1937, to Pablo and Apolonia Flores in San Antonio, Texas.
Silvia enjoyed gardening and keeping a beautiful yard. She loved to sew, crochet and cook for all of her family and friends. Silvia was the most happy when she had her grandchildren around her.
Silvia is survived by her loving children, Richard (Maggie) Santoya, Belia Santoya, Melinda (the late Fred Jr.) Ortiz, and Michelle (Gilbert) Gomez; thirteen beloved grandchildren; twenty-five great grandchildren; siblings, Virginia Acosta, Eva Villanueva, and Xavier Flores; many special nieces, nephews, cousins, and a dear friend, Angie Vela.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leandro G. Santoya; son, Vincent Santoya; granddaughter, Nicole Sanchez; and a great grandson Jacob Santoya; siblings, Nancy Cardenas, Anita Espinoza, Armando Flores, and Luis Flores.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 1, 2022, from 4:00 p.m. until time of Vigil Service at 6:00 p.m. at Fischer Family Funeral Home, 504 N. Michigan Avenue, Saginaw, MI 48602.
Visitation will continue at St. Helen Catholic Church site of Christ the Good Shepherd Parish, 2445 N. Charles Street, Saginaw, MI 48602, on Thursday, June 2, 2022, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Fr. Baltha Raj Bandaru will officiate. Burial will take place at Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery following the Mass.
