Melvin “Mel” Victor Stacy, age 87, of Freeland, Michigan passed away Saturday, September 20, 2025, at home surrounded by family. Mel was born on May 4, 1938, to Melvin and Pearl Stacy in Saginaw, Michigan.
He married Carol Wilhelm on October 3, 1992, and they would be celebrating their 33rd wedding anniversary in a few weeks. Mel retired from Consumers Power, as an electrician where he worked for over 35 years at the Karn Plant 1 and 2 in Essexville. Mel enjoyed detailing and restoring vehicles and enjoyed many good time with everyone. He was always known to keep people laughing with his wonderful sense of humor. He will be missed by everyone who knew him.
Mel is survived by his beloved wife, Carol W. Stacy; his children, Sheri Jo (Thomas) Beaudin, Bethany (Todd) Hoppe, and the late Todd (Cristina) Stacy; grandchildren, Matthew Beaudin, Allison Beaudin, Skylar Hoppe, Andrea Stacy Provencher and Eric (Shana) Stacy; several great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and other friends and family members. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Rose (Wayne) Schwalm, Robert “Bob” (Sandy) Stacy, Helen (Robert) Craner, Katie (Vern) Revell and Frank Stacy.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 25, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m., at St. Mark Lutheran Church, 2565 N. Miller Road, Saginaw, MI 48609, with Pastor Kirk Abatelli officiating. Entombment will be held at Chapel Hill Mausoleum following the services.

Uncle Mel was the best. You couldn't have a bad day when he was around you. He had several little things he would do to us kids to make us laugh. He was truly a great person and loved by many. We will miss you Uncle Mel. Your niece and nephews, Pamela Eneix, Greg Schwalm and Jeff Schwalm.
