Obituary
Sally Ann Nichols, age 87, of Saginaw, passed away on Saturday, July 30, 2022, at Edgewood Assisted Living in Saginaw. She was born on August 14, 1934, to John R. and Lillian F. (Milne) Fentner in Saginaw, Michigan. She married Ward Nichols on September 14, 1957. They shared 64 years of marriage until he preceded her in death in October of 2021.
Sally worked for the Saginaw County Chamber of Commerce for over 30 years. She enjoyed
volunteering with PRIDE of Saginaw, First Presbyterian Church, and Covenant Healthcare. She loved the City of Saginaw and was a lifelong resident. She also loved staying at the Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island, putting on a good rummage sale, talking with her many friends and enjoying a chocolate bar.
Sally is survived by her loving children, Kevin (Traci) Nichols and Stacy (Dave) Belson; adored grandchildren, Alex Nichols, Emily Nichols, and Zane (Tiffany) Belson; great granddaughter, Oaklee Belson; sister, Jackie (the late John) Bray; brother-in-law, Jim Reis; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Dubay, Betty Nichols, and Beverly Nichols; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; and siblings-in-law, Pauline Reis, Doug Nichols, Charles “Chuck” Nichols, and Lorraine Ballard.
Visitation will be held Saturday, August 6, 2022, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of Funeral Service at 1:00 p.m. at Fischer Family Funeral Home, 504 N. Michigan Avenue, Saginaw, MI 48602. Rev. Ted McCulloch will officiate. Burial will take place at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly, MI.

I first met Sally while volunteering with PRIDE events back in the early 80’s. A very friendly and warm welcome while volunteering led me to a lifetime of memories with Sally. I will miss her smile, love of chocolate, shopping (our trip to Mall of America) and Sally’s compassion to my family.
Rest In Peace Sally, you are not with Ward in eternal life.

As director of the Saginaw Community Enrichment Commission, Sally was a pleasure to work with. A constant cheerleader for out community, and volunteered continually to make sure the activities that made, and continue make happened.
