Obituary
Gary Kenneth Hamilton, age 73, of Saginaw Township, passed away Friday, August 5, 2022, at his home. He was born September 18th, 1948, in Highland Park, Michigan to the late Kenneth and Dorothy (Leonhardt) Hamilton. Gary grew up primarily in the Chesaning area, moving to Bridgeport in the early 1960's. He graduated from Bridgeport High School, Class of 1966. While there, he met Theresa Chowaniec and they were married in September, 1968. Four children were born to them from this relationship; Amy (Bernard) Schultz, Matthew Hamilton, Daniel (Joyce) Hamilton, and Kimberly (Josh) Lashuay. Gary later went on to marry Susan Hamilton in March of 2000, adding to the family her children; Terri (Ron) Gray and Alan (Teri) Beadle. She survives him.
Gary was a hard worker his whole life. As a teenager, he worked at the Dixie Villa Oil Company owned by his father. Following his graduation from high school, he went on to become a Master Electrician, and was a former co-owner of Reliable Electric Company. He later became a member of IBEW 557 from which he retired. He enjoyed spending time outside doing yardwork and gardening. Gary also enjoyed hosting get togethers for his friends and family, and vacationing; with his last trip being to the Riveria Maya in Mexico just this past April with his wife and close friends Don Moffett and Karen Hoefling, and Scott and Darlene Egerer.
Surviving besides his wife and children, Gary is survived by two sisters; Vickie (Lester) Lewis and Edith (Theodore) Hartl; fifteen grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Shelia Baumler, Sandra (John) DiMercurio, and Shelley (Robert) Watrous. He was preceded in death by his parents, as well as an infant twin brother, Gilbert, and a sister, Laura Hamilton.
Visitation will take place Friday, August 19, 2022, from 4:00 p.m. until time of Funeral Service at 7:00 p.m. at Fischer Funeral Home, 504 N. Michigan Avenue, Saginaw, Michigan 48602.
