Martin Kabat
August 07, 1965 - September 22, 2025
Obituary
Martin “Marty” Walter Kabat, age 60, of Saginaw, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 22, 2025, at home. He was born on August 7, 1965, to Dale and Cheryl (Elmer) Kabat in Saginaw, Michigan.
Marty spent nearly 40 years of his life as a truck driver, where he was able to enjoy road trips across the country. A true outdoorsman he loved to fish, and hunt whenever he could with his dad, family members and friends; he was most recently planning a trip with family to Drummond Island, Michigan. He loved to read books, which gave him great knowledge on many topics. Marty was known to enjoy having an in-depth conversation with anyone who would lend an ear. He was also an active member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church. Marty was very kindhearted and it gave him joy to see people happy. He would give you his last dollar if needed. Numerous times, he had been known to pay it forward by paying for another person's items. Marty had a strong will to live regardless of what life threw at him. He was dedicated to his cat "Sassi" of 20 years, who will always be looking for him and miss him indefinitely.
Marty is survived by his beloved mother, Cheryl Kabat; siblings, Cindie (“Butch”) Burden, and Holly (Jeff) Smith; nieces and nephew, Matthew Seegers (fiancée, Grace), Stephanie Seegers, and Brittany Judd; great nieces, and nephews, Kameron Hill, Jeremiah Seegers, Layla Seegers, Mason Seegers, Maddox Rivera, Jaxson Rivera, and Jayce Judd Wallace; several cousins and many friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Dale Kabat.
Cremation has taken place and there will be a memorial service held in the near future.
