Gilbert Martinez

Gilbert Martinez passed away peacefully on Friday, August 26,2022. He was born in Austin, Texas to Socorro Martinez in July of 1952.

Gilbert lived life to the fullest and always shared his experience with great stories. A man of strong faith, he taught us the importance of faith and family. Gilbert was an amazing father, grandfather, husband and friend. He would do anything for his family and friends and loved fiercely. Gilbert retired from Denver Health after 15 years of public service and went on to touch lives by becoming a Caregiver

Gilbert was proceeded in death by his mother, Socorro; his stepfather, Calledeno; and his sister, Maria.

Gilbert is survived by his wife, Ferne Hassel-Martinez; ex-wife, Mary McNeese; daughters, Crystal Martinez and family, Denise (Joe) Sanchez and family, Robin (Albert) Palacio and family; sons, Christian Martinez and family, and Lawrence Martinez. Services will be held in October of 2022 in Denver, Colorado. Further details are pending.
