Julia Garcia Lucas

Julia Garcia Lucas, age 38, of Saginaw, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, December 29, 2022. The daughter of Jose Gabino and Francisca (Guzman) Garcia, Julia was born October 4, 1984, in San Benito, Texas.

Due to health reasons, Julia was unable to work. She made the most of the situation by cherishing time spent with family. Being a mom was one of her greatest gifts in life and she loved every moment with her children and family.

Julia is survived by her children, Patricia R. Garcia and Cesar Lucas, Jr.; parents, Jose and Francisca Garcia; siblings, Silvina (Pablo) Vasquez, Sarai Garcia (Gregory Cridelich), Aurelia (Juan) Avila, Gabino Garcia (Izamar Villareal), Luisa Garcia (Marco Lopez), Jorge Garcia (Valerie Ruiz), Cristina Garcia (Terrell Burton), Daniel Garcia (Billy Jo Mazur), Sara (Mario) Gomez, Elisa (Jose) Avila, and Arkeisha (Jeremy) Jackson; father of her children, Cesar Lucas; many nieces, nephews, great nieces, aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Julissa S. Lucas; paternal grandparents, Sixto Garcia, Margarita Martinez, and Silvina Martinez; maternal grandparents, Valentin Guzman and Aurelia Sustiata.

Visitation will take place Monday, January 2, 2023, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Fischer Family Funeral Home, 504 N. Michigan Avenue, Saginaw, MI 48602. Visitation will continue Tuesday, January 3, 2023, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 936 N. 6th Avenue, Saginaw, MI 48601, from 10:00 a.m. until time of Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Fr. Frank Voris will officiate.

Memorials in honor of Julia may be made to her family to assist with future education funds for her children.
