Francis Vargo
August 27, 1962 - March 27, 2023
Obituary
Francis William Vargo Jr., of Rose City, Michigan passed away on Monday March 27, 2023.
He was born on August 27, 1962 to Francis W. and Janet Vargo Sr., in West Branch, Michigan.
Francis (Frank to those that knew him) was the definition of a wild card in the game of life. He often would state his motto “Be good, or be good at it” to those he cared for. In addition to his life passions of hunting, fishing, and HAM radio operation (KC8EBZ), he was a loving if albeit unconventional person. The people that knew him well could tell stories for days about the wild man and his legendary personality, most of them too informal for such a thing as an obituary. To those that knew him best, he will always hold a special place in their hearts.
“There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. A high-powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die.”- Hunter S. Thompson
Francis is survived by his beloved daughter, Jelyra (Thomas) White; dear siblings, John Vargo
and Tamara Shields.
He was preceded in death by his brother, William Vargo and his parents.
Cremation has taken place and there are no services planned at this time.
