Obituary

Norman Frederick Davis II, known by many as Swab, passed away on Wednesday, May 3rd, 2023, in his home at the age of 81, surrounded by friends and family. Born June 4th, 1941, in Saginaw to Louise Harrington and Norman Davis. He was married to Dianne Feldotte in 1964, who preceded him in death in 1998. Aside from his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his step-father, Kenneth Harrington, and a brother, William Booth. He served in the United States Navy for six years, until he was honorably discharged in 1966. Upon leaving the military, he worked as a truck driver until his retirement and remained the owner of Bayview Storage in Augres, MI.

A lifetime resident of Kochville, he enjoyed fishing and hunting and would be the first to tell you that he was the best around at both, and rightfully so. His hobbies also included his garden, which was more like an obsession than a hobby. Yielding enough vegetables to feed an army, he enjoyed sharing the fruits of his labor with friends and family alike.

He is survived by his four children, Norman Davis III and wife Christine, Mark Davis, Stephanie Mitchell and her husband Christopher, Brett Davis and wife Heather. Six grandchildren, Micheal, Eathan, Kelly, Kathryn, Kayla, and Ellie. Four great grandchildren, Jaxson, Thea, Axell and Delilah. His sister, Evelyn Griffore and several nieces and nephews. In addition to family members, he was survived by many great friends acquired over the years.

Visitation will take place on Monday, May 8, 2023, from 11:00 a.m. until time of Funeral Service at 2:00 p.m. at Fischer Family Funeral Home, 504 N. Michigan Avenue, Saginaw, MI 48602. Burial will take place at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly, Michigan.

In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy are encouraged to make a donation to the Zilwaukee Lions Club or to the family and donations will be used to purchase a bench at the Zilwaukee riverfront in his memory, so those that shared his love for the water and fishing can enjoy for years to come.

My friend Norman. I started out as just your “personal banker” and ended as dear friends. You always made me laugh even if you embarrassed me while doing so! You had the kindest heart, I’ll miss our chats! Good bye for now, Tabatha Stebner
