Obituary

As a testament to their love and devotion to one another, Charles “Chuck” Earl Dingman, 74, and
Michelle Janice (Henne) Dingman, 69, both of Saginaw, passed away on Monday, July 24th, 2023, surrounded by their family.

Chuck and Chelle met in Saginaw in 1971 and were married on September 29th, 1972. As a couple they enjoyed golf cart rides, card games, home “improvement” projects, and spending time with their family. In 2022, they celebrated 50 years of marriage.

Charles was born to Vernon and Rose (Williams) Dingman on February 12th, 1949, in Saginaw, Michigan. After graduating high school, Charles was drafted into the United States Army where he received an honorable discharge. Following his time in the military, Charles worked for the Michigan Department of Transportation where he retired after 35 years of service. After retirement, Charles enjoyed time with his grandchildren, tinkering in his garage, hunting up north at “The Lodge”, and Sunday morning “church” with his close friends. Charles was known for his quick wit, his ability to tell stories, and his undeniable love for his family.

Michelle's parents were Donald and Geraldine (Timm) Henne. She was born on December 12th, 1953, in Saginaw, Michigan. After graduation, Michelle settled into life as a wife and mother and was employed by Flents, Mfg. for several years. Michelle was known as a loving mother, grandmother, a loyal friend, and a helping hand to everyone. She enjoyed crafting, especially with her grandchildren, gardening, and thrifting.

Charles and Michelle are survived by their daughters, Lisa (Dave) May and Sara (Todd) Schlager; Michelle's father, Donald (Alexis); Michelle's sister, Tonya; nine grandchildren, Jenna, Jacob, Mackenzie, Olivia, Brenna, Miley, Mason, Brooklyn, and Kennedy; and their two fur babies, Kitty and Kinsley. They were preceded in death by Charles' parents; his brothers, Vernon (Cathy) and Robert; sister-in-law, Sally; Michelle's mother; and brother-in-law, James MacGregor.

Per their wishes, cremation has taken place. The family will be present for visitation on Friday, July 28th, 2023, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of Memorial Service at 2:00 p.m. at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 808 Weiss Street, Saginaw, MI 48602. A Celebration of Life and Love will be held after the service at Saginaw Field and Stream Club, 1296 N. Gleaner Road, Saginaw, 48609. Charles and Michelle will be interred during a private committal ceremony on their anniversary at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Michigan.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for memorial gifts to be given to Bethlehem Lutheran Church, School, and Preschool or the St. Charles Athletic Association.
