Kathleen Jo Bowen, age 62, of Traverse City, Michigan, passed away Thursday, March 14, 2024, at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. She was born on March 5, 1962, to Arturo and Janie (Sanchez) Trejo in Saginaw, Michigan. She married Kevin Bowen and together they shared nearly 34 years of marriage.
Kathy was a senior sales representative for Maxwell Metals and Awards for 37 years. She was skilled with sewing and enjoyed craft shows. Kathy loved exercising, kickboxing, long walks, her dog, and had a special affinity for shoes.
Kathy is survived by her beloved husband, Kevin Bowen; son, Brian (Ashley) Bowen; grandchildren, Jaiden Bowen and Brycen Bowen; siblings, Sameul Trejo, Lucy (Martin) Cramton, Don (Mary) Trejo, and Liz (Cameron) Welch; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; her nephew, David A. Dunn; and her dog, Missy.
Cremation has taken place and there will be a memorial service planned for the Summer of 2024. Please check back for further details.

I met Kathy in the 7th grade at the old North School here in Saginaw. Kathy's warmth and kindness made her the best friend. I will always treasure the memories of our Christmas trips when she moved up north to Traverse City, the times she spent here with me when Brian was a toddler, all our laughs and good times, I don't think we ever figured how we were locking that basement door at Lucy's that one Christmas. I cannot believe you're gone but know your love and kindness will live on in all who were blessed to have known you. Fly high my friend, I know you will be watching over us.

Aunt Kathy was the closest thing to a second mom growing up for me. I spent many nights with their family having sleepovers with Brian and for many years a full week at Gitche-Gumee with her, Uncle Kevin, Brian, David, and others in her family. She was always a warm and lighthearted presence wherever she went. She leaves behind many who will miss her dearly and those people will never forget her.

Kathy was very generous and loved to bring in baked goods for her coworkers at Maxwell Medals. She was most famous for her cake balls which we all loved. I was tickled with her love for rhinestones and most anything with bling. Kathy would share stories about her grandsons and the fun she had with them, or her vacations she and Kevin would take to their cabin in northern Michigan. To the family, I am so sorry for your loss.
