Obituary
Leola Belle “Lee” (Bartley) Bradley, 97, of Saginaw, MI, passed away peacefully on September 27, 2023, at Shields Comfort Care Assisted Living in Saginaw.
The daughter of Lloyd and Beatrice (Alexander) Bartley, Lee was born on October 12, 1925, in Port Huron, MI. On December 20, 1947, she wed Arthur “Art” Bradley at Gratiot Park Methodist Church in Port Huron. They were blessed with four children and were married for 50 years until his passing in 1998.
A sharp student, Lee was a member of the National Honor Society in high school but often gravitated towards activities that fueled her competitive spirit. She played basketball and tennis before focusing more on golf and bowling in her later life. She also enjoyed a rousing game of bridge or euchre and watching her youngest sons play baseball and softball. She loved hosting family gatherings, especially during the holidays, and being surrounded by the chaos of her legacy.
Lee is survived by her son, David (Kathleen) Bradley of St. Joseph, daughter, Kay (James) Groom of Saginaw, son, Steven (Sally) Bradley of Saginaw and son, James (April) Bradley of Saginaw; 7 grandchildren - Jill, Stacey, Adam, Matthew, Calvin, Libby, and Jake; 7 great grandchildren - Kelsey, Sydney, Makayla, Mia, Natalie, Alaina, and Emelia; 2 step great grandchildren - Cary and Tyler; 2 great great grandchildren - Kaiden and Keagan; and nieces and nephews.
Lee was preceded in death by her parents, husband Arthur Bradley, special friend Herman Megerle, and brother Bruce Bartley.
Visitation will be held Saturday, October 7, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. until time of Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. at First United Methodist Church, 4790 Gratiot Road, in Saginaw, where she was a long-time member. Pastor Amy Terhune will officiate. Burial will follow the service at Oakwood Cemetery, with a meal to follow at Sullivans.
